Event Purpose and Format

The primary function of this event is to celebrate and memorialize the life of Richard Allan Frye, and to raise funds to the benefit of his immediate family survivors, including, Paula, Koya and Dana Frye. The "Fund" will also benefit musicians and artists as well. Further, the fund would be a Not For Profit or Non Profit entity, to remain forever in his honor. The director and controllers of the “Fund” will be determined through ordinary means in accordance with existing laws and procedures, and will be monitored by the “Founders” and other interested parties

·        To allow  an opportunity for family, friends, and associates to come together to offer their respect, condolences and support to the Frye family.

·        To allow  an opportunity for family, friends, and associates to express the frustrations of the sudden loss and establish a network for bonding.

·        To help family, friends, and associates transition into a time for healing.

·        To allow  an opportunity for family, friends, and associates to share information concerning the death of Richard Frye.

·        To inform, educate and learn about the value of life.

·        To establish a funding base to which musicians and artists could apply for monetary, and in-kind or other kinds of support system assistance.

                                                                Background or History

The following is a fund raising idea I proposed to Richard and others about two years ago. Along with Richard, me, and many of our friends, the event format has already been tested on two occasions. The events  successfully met our expectations and was well received by the participants, and other interested parties. Unfortunately, no one would have expected that Richard would be one of the first recipients of the benefits of such an effort. The first recipient of funds raised for from our event format was awarded to

Wayside Family and Youth Services. http://www.waysideyouth.org/ The amount was only about $200, yet, the effort and the energy that was generated was enormous. The relationship established between myself and the Wayside Organization has allowed me to work with at risk youth in Somerville and Watertown since the event in 2004. Richard, his family and many of our friends were there to support, this wonderful idea. Because of the closeness of our relationship, I relied considerably on Richard for various support interactions, i.e. website management, musical support and direction, etc. Even with his lost, and the extra burden of carrying on our idea of creating a Fund for musicians and artists, I hope to find a way to continue. The energy to have the “Event” has been forged and now it is time for us to commit. I have received an overwhelming outpouring for the event. Some of our friends have already made reservations to come here from out-of-state. Others have set aside the day to perform as musicians. Artists have promised to donate works of art at deep discounts to be auctioned, including paintings, jewelry, etc.

The event will have entire groups of musicians from the area. Richard’s band, ”Tuxedo Junction” http://www.newenglandmusic.com/wedding-band.htm, will be the host band. They can be described as a “Wedding Band” who has performed throughout the New England area for many years. “New Image” will perform fantastic singing and dance routines, in the traditional “Motown Style”. “New Image” consists of a double generation of musicians, some of whom I have known and played with even longer than Richard. All of the musicians are our common friends. Many of the musicians have achieved a National and “World Class” status. Other musicians will perform as smaller groups or solo performances including very young musicians as well. The entrainment will be non-stop and will include a variety of genres. Tables and chairs will be available for those who just want to be entertained and dance floor space will be available. Refreshments will be available.

Paintings and prints will be on display to be sold at auction. I will donate 2-5 thousand dollars worth of paintings, prints or Portrait Painting service to the fund.  There will be tables and displays where business, community organizations, and individuals can use to display their services or network with visitors. There will be a place where a collection of photos, audiovisuals and memorabilia of Richard can be viewed. There will be a considerable number of VIPs from various community forums. Many of them have supported me for many years and will be there to honor my efforts in the community as well as Richard and his family. The program is family oriented and all is encouraged to bring young ones. Attendants will be available to help parents with children. Special entertainment will be provided for the young ones. The recommended minimum age is 9 years old. All participants will be donating their services and wares to the fund.

The idea for this project is only one of several projects in which Richard and I were involved. Therefore the situation demands all my attention at this point to insure success. Please contact me any time if you need more information. . It is also important for participants and other interested parties to contact me ASAP for media and advertising purposes. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Updated info can be found at http://rolart.com/.   Monetary donations can be sent to:
